Are you a 5%'er?
What I mean by that, is what I've noticed these last 14 months, is that if you are calm, confident, in control, & you've thought-out how to still make money in the mortgage bidness, that you do just fine.
But, if you can't handle the anxiety, you don't do well at all, and it has little to do with the market, or where you live.
That might sound harsh, but it's true idn't it?
There's been so much chaotic change these last 14 months, that if you let it get to you, it'll take you down.
But, what if you didn't freak-out about every little thing?
What would it feel like if a sense of calm came over you, right now, because you just stopped worrying about everything, all the time?
That's what my best Members do. And they do very well as a result.
Last week, at Dan Kennedy's Platinum meeting, I met a guy, who's a UDT-SEAL instructor, actually stationed near me, at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, in North Chicago, Illinois.
He was a guest of my friend, John Alanis.
Anyhow, John Alanis used to be a "nuke officer." Meaning, that he worked in nuclear power propulsion, and he did his time on sub's.
See, the Navy likes to use nuke reactors on its vessels, so that they can steam longer, without having to refuel every week, with "fossil fuels" from a supply ship.
I was in the Navy too, but I was enlisted, and I passed-up the "nuke" program to go into cryptology instead (codes).
Our UDT-SEAL friend is still in the Navy, but getting-out in February. His name is Derek.
John met him at a recent seminar, and has been helping him figure-out how to make some duckets when he gets out of the Navy in a few months.
Derek's been working at Great Lakes, in charge of "mental conditioning" for the SEAL candidates they get from boot camp over there.
He works with them between boot camp graduation and when they get shipped-off to BUDS in Coronado, California.
So, over breakfast, I got to talking to Derek about his time in the Navy, and about mine.
I told him that I got a lot of mental strength just from boot camp alone, but more & more each month I served.
I did 5 years.
He said that mental toughness is so important when it comes to getting through BUDS, that if the Navy didn't put SEAL candidates through his "mental toughness" training, that the wash-out rate from BUDS would be much, much higher.
He pointed-out, that surviving BUDS, and later getting your SEAL pin, the "Budweiser," is just about sucking it up.
Toughing it out.
Being mentally calm.
Knowing that no, you're not going to die.
The evening before this breakfast, we'd all had a couple beers at the bar. He'd told me then, that the last 7 years in the Navy had been really fun...better than the first 10, because we've been at war the last 7.
You might think that kinda odd. It's fun to get shot at?
I kinda understood though, 'cuz the most fun I ever had is when I was on the aircraft carrier, and we were loading 2,000 pound bombs onto all the aircraft to go drop 'em on the Serbs back in '95.
:-)
I was on the flight deck loading encryption codes into the radios on the intel-gathering aircraft.
The bombs got loaded by the weapons department guys.
Anywho, are you a 5%'er?
I figure that's about what it takes nowadays to make it in the mortgage bidness.
I can lead you to water, but will you drink?
Suck it up, yer almost out of the woods.
Remember, Lehman wasn't makin' loans anymore anywho.
Fannie/Freddie are STILL investing in loans.
Bear had already closed Encore months & months ago.
So what are you freakin'-out about?
You're not gonna die. Far from it.
AIG take-over? No biggie.
What we are seeing is a RAPID re-setting of debt loads on homes, as loan modifications, short refis, and short sales right the ship.
And although this current thing is uncomfortable, it'll be over lightning-fast, versus taking a decade to get out of.
We have 10-month housing inventories now, and 5 is normal. So, we could be done with this crap by February. Or at least the bulk of it.
This time, the government is on top of it. Handling it quickly and not making it worse.
Back in 1929, the government did everything backwards. They tightened the money supply, raised rates, f'd things up pretty bad then.
They ain't doin' that now.
Keep in mind that you can make BIG duckets selling credit repair, loan modifications, & life insurance to your turn-downs.
In fact, you can make $6K per turn-down. Maybe more.
And you can still do FHA, reverses, & Fannie/Freddie ARM resets.
Ok?
Hey, mark yer calendar, 'cuz tomorrow, Thursday, at 4 pm ET / 3 pm CT / 2 pm MT / 1 pm PT, I'm gonna hold a free call fer you on how to sell credit repair to yer turn-downs, and make $1K profit per head.
I'm gonna hook-you-up, on tomorrow's call, with the guy whose company does all the work for you.
You just sell it. And, it sells itself anyway.
I'll send you the call-in numbers tomorrow, so stay tuned.
